Original Douglas MacArthur (Autographed!) Photo Of Japanese Surrender

$400.00
sold out

Guaranteed original Douglas MacArthur Autograph, on a 8x10” photo print of the famous Japanese surrender, framed.

I bought this amazing piece of history years ago from the daughter of the Filipino lady who personally had the photo autographed by MacArthur himself. During MacArthur’s return to the Philippines in 1950, this young lady went to a public appearance of MacArthur where they had photo prints available to have signed by the man himself. She got two prints autographed and this is one.

U.S. General of the Army, Douglas MacArthur, Supreme Allied Commander, signs the Japanese surrender document Sept. 1, 1945 aboard the U.S.S. Missouri. Behind General MacArthur are U.S. Lieutenant General Jonathan Wainwright, hero of Bataan and Correaidor who was found in a Japanese prisoner of war camp Aug. 20, 1945, and British Lieutenant General Arthur E. Percival, who was forced to surrender Singapore to the Japense. Both were liberated from the Japanese prison camp at Sian, Manchuria, by U.S. paratroops and Soviet forces. Both were flown to Tokyo at General MacArthur's invitation to witness the surrender ceremonies".
