Rare Large Original 1945 WWII Souvenir Map, Campaigns of the 100th Infantry Division, the Century Division, during World War II is a visual history of the division during the war. The last map to be printed, and the only one that was not produced by the divisional support section. Rather, this sheet was published in June of 1945 by the 661st Engineer Topographic Company. Shows the route through France and Germany from the first day of combat near Rambervillers to V-E Day + 3, when the unit was assigned its occupational orders near Geislingen. The 100th landed in Marseilles, France, on 20 October, 1944, and entered combat in the middle of November when they attacked the German Winter Line in the Vosges mountains of Northeast France, as part of VI Corps. The 1st Battalion, 399th Infantry Regiment received the Presidential Unit Citation for their success in these battles against the Germans. Lt. Edward Silk, 2nd Battalion, 398th Infantry Regiment was awarded the Medal of Honor.
